My 2 Cents tagged me with a meme I’ve seen everywhere lately. Here’s how it works:
Pick up the book nearest you. Find page 123. Find the first five sentences. Post the next 3 sentences.Tag five people.
The book nearest me is TNIV Books of the Bible. Page 123 consists of Exodus Endnotes. That’s no fun. Here’s a passage from page 122:
“Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. Bring his sons and dress them in tunics.”
–fr. Exodus 40
The next nearest book might be more interesting. My daughter Mary is reading “The Other Boleyn Girl” for Advanced English Literature. It’s the book lying on the coffee table in front of me. Here’s the passage, written from the POV of Mary Boleyn:
“Suddenly, like a striking snake, she reached out and grabbed my hand in a fierce grip. At once, she twisted it behind my back and held me so that I could move neither forward nor backward but only cry out in pain: ‘Anne! Don’t! You’re really hurting!’”

And Bonus Tagee: Bob MacDonald, who’s sure to have some very interesting literature lying within reach.
